Successful Career Woman Are More Likely To Divorce
According to the Washington Post, successful career woman are more likely to divorce – getting a top job “dramatically increases” a woman’s chances of divorce.
“Promotion to a top job in politics increases the divorce rate of women but not for men, and women who become CEOs divorce faster than men who become CEOs,” notes Johanna Rickne, a professor at Stockholm University and co-author of the research.
Underlying the divorce could be resentment. Successful people work long hours, and this could lead to a couple not spending as much time together and the loss of intimacy. We have all heard the expression “I’m married to my job”. Another factor could be jealousy of the others money and power, etc.
Relationships often fail when couples spend less time together and begin to communicate and interact much less. Combine this with resentment, loss of intimacy and jealousy – this is a path for divorce whether it is a man or a woman involved.
